Root: When a marble is dropped in water, two jets appear at either end. (A jet of water appears above, a vacuum of air appears beneath.) The same thing happens when marbles are dropped in sand.
Question: Could a meteor cause the same disturbance to a planet? The atmosphere would jet up when a meteor hits it and the surface would mix. Could this be a partial explanation for jets on the sun?
